  • To life!

Ok, I don't know where I came up with that title- I think it's something off 'Fiddler On The Roof'. It seemed apt. Since I last posted (I know, I know, a day and an age ago!), Gabe has grown by leaps and bounds.

I learned how to make the world's absolute best Mac'n'Cheese. From scratch. Seriously, you'd think I'm pregnant by the way I crave that stuff. I'm not, by the way. Not pregnant, that is.

The hubby and I have been making some big, life-changing decisions.

This is a pasture in southeastern North Dakota, near where we are relocating to in July. Yup, you read right: we are moving. Halfway across the country. To pursue a dream. And, yes, we've been told, quite seriously, by well-meaning folks, that we are crazy and stupid and making a big mistake. Ah, well. Those folks never really stepped out of their comfort zone and took a risk. And what, I ask you, is great opportunity without great risk?

Another shot near our soon-to-be home. This is a typical back road. Like an actual road with mail boxes along it. It runs through a cattle pasture. And yes, that is the school bus coming the other direction. We LOVE it!

I had a bunch of other pictures I was going to post and I uploaded them...and now I can't find them! What has Xanga changed in the photo department?!

So, with our move fast approaching, I have been super, SUPER busy. We are thisclose to having our house publicly listed as for sale and have been working extremely hard getting it ready to show. I never knew getting ready to show one's house was. so. much. work! You have to get rid of anything you won't be needing before your move, keep your house clean and picked up, etc. Basically, when people come to look at it, they're not supposed to think about the fact that they're invading someone's home. So that's my excuse for not posting recently!

I'm going to try and post some pics of my new little neice, Gabe's cousin, who was born 3 weeks ago. I did her birth announcments and they turned out extremely cute- or, at least, I thought they did!

If you want to keep up with my life a little more, try friending me on Facebook- I keep that updated much more frequently.

    What's up with everyone else?

south eastern ND huh? you'll be relatively close to Fargo then! I'm from the other side of the state. (Williston)

  • JadaFish@xanga

Your pics of ND are great! I think it sounds like an adventure (moving out there), but I would be crazy-homesick!!  I hope you get your house sold!

  • Mom2Be

@inadee@xanga - Ooooops! What I meant write was that we are moving to southWEST ND! I think I saw the name Williston somewhere- either on a road sign or the map. We're moving to Bowman.

  • inadee@xanga

ah! I know Bowman. Williston is pretty much straight north from there. What part of the country are you moving from?

I just decided to edit this having looked at the map. Bowman is actually really close to where i am from originally-Baker, Montana. That is pretty crazy!

  • Mom2Be

@inadee@xanga - We're moving from southeast PA. Is Williston the town with the Amtrak station?

  • Mom2Be

@JadaFish@xanga - I suppose I'll get a little homesick, but more for family and friends than anything. Since I'm not really from around here, I don't think I will miss Lanc. Co. itself too much. But seriously, if you ever do a western trip with your little family, you have to come see us!

  • Mom2Be

@inadee@xanga - Think I saw that name somewhere too!

  • t2truong@xanga

    Congratulations on realizing your dream!

  • t2truong@xanga

And yes, putting your house on the market is a pain in the rear!  Been there, done that - we were always picking up after ourselves and if we were home when potential buyers come by to look at the house, we had to clear out at the drop of a hat!  And you have a baby on top of that!  Best of luck to you!

  • inadee@xanga

yes, Williston has a train station.

  • Mom2Be

@t2truong@xanga - Thanks for the congrats!

And, yeah, no kidding! You honestly wouldn't believe how much stuff I've cleaned up and sent to Goodwill!

Well, we're on the market now, so no turning back. We had two showings yesterday, one scheduled for tonight (so far), and one for tomorrow (so far). And yesterday was our first full day of publicly being on the market! PTL! But thank goodness; so far the realtor's office has called several hours (or days) in advance, so that's nice. The whole picking up after ones self is probably a good habit for me to get into, lol.

  • fruitloops115@xanga

Ha! That is SO funny. I do drive a Mazda minivan, and yes that was me. I saw you and thot. Hmm. that looks like that mom from xanga....but then i was like, nah, what's she doing in my neighborhood, and didn't she move out west???

anyway, so do you live around here? we live just around the corner from that intersection on Old Akron Rd.

  • Mom2Be

@fruitloops115@xanga - LOL! That IS funny! We live (until next week, that is) right on the other side of Akron, on Middle Creek Rd. I was picking up our milk and eggs at the Hoovers (Hillside Produce?), like I do every week. I thought you probably didn't notice me as you were trying to make a left-hand turn and looked kinda busy.

I will still continue to follow your Xanga and your other blog after we move- I love your work! Makes me wish I had all the brains and the know-how to get that fantastic light and color. I know Photoshop helps, but having a good, working knowledge of manual settings helps too. Mine is rudimentary, at best.
